FAQ's for Brides and School Formals and Debs
How will I know my gown will fit?
eVisualís range of bustier and skirt pieces are designed to mould to your body and fit perfectly. When you give us your measurements, we adjust our dressmakerís model to your exact sizing element and work from that.
What if I lose or put on weight closer to the wedding day?
All our garments have a stretch component that can accommodate slight fluctuations in body changes without the need for costly alterations, if however for some reason your gown does not fit properly, we will adjust it for you free of charge or exchange it for a different size if necessary.
I have a particularly heavy bust and would feel more comfortable if I am able to wear a bra under my gown.
We can add straps to any of our bustier styles to cover your bra straps and will work with you to create a style that suits your body shape and ensures your comfort and confidence.
I would prefer to have my upper arms covered
We can add sleeves, a jacket or shrug or a draped shawl to your outfit to cover your upper arms.
Will eVisualís range work for my bridesmaids too?
Definitely, in fact your attendants will be delighted if you choose a bustier and skirt rather than a dress as they will be able to incorporate the bustiers and possibly the skirts into their everyday wardrobe!
I want a princess style tulle skirt and I would like my under petticoat to be in the same colour as my bridesmaids dresses
We can add a layer of coloured net to your petticoat. We can also have your bridesmaids skirts dyed in the matching colour and add trims in the same colour on the bustiers.
I want a short wedding dress
Our range of skirts can be shortened to any length that you require at no extra cost for yourself and also your attendants.
I am looking for a quite unusual theme for my wedding dress but I am not sure if the pieces in your range will work.
Email us a sketch and description of your requirements and we will call you to discuss whether we can accommodate your requirements.
I am particularly tall and I am having trouble finding a dress that reaches past my ankles.
Our skirts are made with tall girls in mind and shortened as required. We can add to the length of our gowns by adding trims to the hemline for extremely tall girls. We would contact you to discuss options.
My bust is quite small but I have generous hips and I want to balance out my figure. Many of the gowns I have tried on that fit my lower body have a bodice that just looks too big with an "empty" look in the bust area and those that fit nicely on my upper body are too tight across my hip area.
You are the perfect example of the need for dual upper and lower garment sizing. The trick here is to show off the best of your body features which is a neat waist, and by using a larger sized skirt and smaller sized bodice, achieving the perfect body fit. We can then balance your silhouette with clever trims across the bust area, a drape or clever sleeve or dropped strap to "pull" the upper area outward to achieve the balance.
I want to use something from my mother's bridal outfit and incorporate it into mine. Is this possible?
It depends on the age and condition of the pieces. We have successfully re-modelled veils and also used some fabrics from our client's mother's gowns as trimmings on our pieces to achieve wonderful outcomes. This can be a very moving touch that can help you make a statement about how truly special and unique your relationship with your mother is.
I would like to wear a white gown to my school formal but I am concerned that it could look too bridal.
White can be a striking colour choice and by adding a sash or trim in a vibrant colour such as emerald green, fuschia or even black, the result can be breathtaking! Add killer heels and accessories in the contrast colour to really make a statement.
